What is it?
Power kites are inflatable structure that have a look similar to an airplane wing. They develop a great force of traction and they are drivable. They are inflated by the air entrance on the front of the leading edge.
How do we drive them?
You drive them with the aid of two handles or a navigation bar. When you pull to the left your kite is turning left, when you pull to the right, your kites is going to the right, if you pull on both handles at the same time your kite is now going backward.
Differents sizes
You will find those kites in differents sizes, the smallest has 2 square meters and the biggest has 9 square meters and even 11 square meters.
You will select your kites mainly in function of your weight to get an optimal efficiency.
Differents types
The differents sports in the power kiting are done on earth and on the water, for this reason you will find kites that are adapted for differents activities.
The kites normally used on earth or snow have open cells at the front of the leading edge. Those you will use on the water have closed cells at the leading that will trapped the air in the kites and keep the water out of it. This an important quality for anyone interested in kite surfing.

Even if the sport of kite Skiing is fairly recent in Quebec, it is well known and practiced in the northern countries, like Scandinavia, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Estonia and Russia since 20 years. Only in Finland where were held the 1999 World Championship they are 230 clubs and more than 10000 amateurs.
Since five years now, our team has teached a little bit more then two hundred persons the sport of kite skiing, an outdoor winter activity that could be very relaxing for the nature lovers or really physical and heart beating for the speed kiters.
